Principal News
Dear Families,
We have officially reached the half way mark of Term 3.
This term being a short term, is moving very fast.
We have had some issues with power supply to parts of the school over the last couple of weeks all of which have been handled swiftly and are being investigated by an electrical engineer. Our staff worked quickly to put structures in place so that learning could continue with very little interruption. We are very fortunate to have staff who work quickly and diligently to ensure all students access the learning in a calm and coordinated manner. I thank the staff for their flexibility and for going above and beyond to ensure learning continued.
On Monday, we had a girls soccer team compete at The Southern Regional Metropolitan Lightning Premiership and they came runner’s up. Well done girls!
We thank all parents who attended Family Learning Conversations (FLCs) and remind all parents who have not yet returned the signed forms to do so as soon as possible. These are filed in student files and are a legal document that forms a record of these meetings.
As previously communicated we are in the process of undergoing the School Review process. We have been preparing all our documentation for this process which takes place every 4 years for all schools. Over the 3 days all staff will be interviewed as well as students and parents and Father Paul.
The aim of School Review is to look at school priorities and practices, test them with all sectors of our school community to ensure we have a clear direction moving forward.
Please ensure your child/ren are adhering to the school uniform which includes jewelry and makeup. Students will be asked to remove any items of jewelry that do not adhere to the Uniform Policy and also any makeup being worn to school.
Illness is again hitting St Catherine’s hard again. We have students presenting with many symptoms, and ask that if your child is unwell or has any symptoms, that they be kept home to assist with reducing the risk of infection to other students and staff. Please be assured that splitting classes is a last resort but is a necessity from time to time.
If you have changed your address recently, could you please notify us via email at info@stcberwick.catholic.edu.au
Warm regards
Anna
