RE Reflection
Hello Everyone
We are nearing the end of the term and it has not been without its challenges, however, I am starting to see the emergence of spring, new buds on the flowering plants, the days and nights are starting to get longer and there is a mildness in the temperature that tells me spring is here.
In this week’s second reading James talks about people who discriminate against others simply by how they look or what they wear. He writes ‘Listen, my dear brothers: it was those who are poor according to the world that God chose, to be rich in faith and to be the heirs to the kingdom which he promised to those who love him.’ Can we look beyond the facade and see compassion for others?
When have you shown compassion and kindness to those around you in the last few days? More than ever, we need to be the ‘human face of Jesus’ to those around us.
Next month is Catholic Mission month with a focus on providing aide to Thailand through the Socktober Challenge initiative. Teachers and students will be focusing on this next term.

Finally we keep the people of Afghanistan in our prayers and pray that the leaders of the world will ‘seek the way of peace.’ Below is a prayer that you might like to pray:
Even more, by your Spirit you move hearts
That enemies may speak to each other again,
Adversaries join hands,
And peoples seek to meet together.
By the working of your power It comes about, O Lord,
That hatred is overcome by love,
Revenge gives way to forgiveness,
And discord is changed to mutual respect.
Amen
Yours in Faith
