RE Reflection
Hello Everyone
This week we launch our St. Vincent De Paul Winter Appeal. It is a very important initiative as it reminds us of God’s love for each other. In John 15, Jesus says “This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. No one has greater love than this, to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. You are my friends if you do what I command you. I do not call you servants any longer, because the servant does not know what the master is doing; but I have called you friends, because I have made known to you everything that I have heard from my Father. You did not choose me but I chose you. And I appointed you to go and bear fruit, fruit that will last, so that the Father will give you whatever you ask him in my name. I am giving you these commands so that you may love one another.” This is why the Winter Appeal is vital in helping those who need our support. The students are learning this through the Catholic Social Teaching Principles which are Dignity of the Human Person, Common Good, Solidarity, Subsidiarity, Participation, Care for the Common Home and Preferential Option for the Poor.
If you can donate either tinned/canned food, non perishable goods or toiletries, this would be most appreciated.
This Friday and Saturday see our Year Six students celebrate the Sacrament of Confirmation. This is a momentous event in their lives, they have been preparing for this sacrament over the past few months and are ready to take the next step in their faith journey. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers this week.
